“How can I rent a storage unit during COVID?”
Great question! The answer is very simple. We offer multiple ways for our customers to rent a storage unit, safe and contact-free!
1. Determine the size storage unit you will need.
If you do not already know which size storage unit you need, check out storage unit calculator to determine the approximate square footage you’ll need. If you already know your size, great!
2. Determine the storage that will best accommodate belongs.
Storage units come with various features – from climate control to drive-up access. Each feature comes with its own benefits and, depending on what you will be storing, will be a better option for you.
Drive-Up Access. Storage units with drive-up access are more suitable for storing equipment, gardening or building supplies or items with gas. If you are also storing large items and will be regularly moving these items in and out of your unit, you may also enjoy the convenience of driving right up to your unit.
Climate-Control. Storage units with air conditioning or climate control are typically only for indoor units and available for a higher cost. However, if you’re storing sensitive items, such as furniture, office supplies or equipment, or clothing, you’d definitely want to splurge for this feature. Your items will stay in much better shape, especially if you’re in an area that gets very hot, such as the desert.
First-Floor Units. If you elect for an indoor unit, you may want to give some thought for the floor level you will be on. Upper-level floors are typically of lower cost, however, if you are afraid of heights or do not like traveling in elevators, you may prefer a unit on the first floor.
3. Rent your storage unit.
Now that you know which size and type of storage you need, you can begin the process of renting your unit.
Online: Rent or reserve your storage unit online. This is the best method for you if you want to limit contact with a manager as much as possible. Find a facility near you and view available units. For any questions, you can send us a message or call and we’ll help you find the best size.
By Phone: Prefer to speak with a manager? Not a problem. Our agents are trained to find you the best size and type storage to fit your needs and will answer any questions you have about the unit, the facility, and more.
In Store. Prefer to visit and check out the unit prior to renting? Visit us during office hours! Just come by the facility and see our available units. Many of our customers like to see the unit beforehand to eyeball if it will fit their storage and how they can plan to pack their items.
Not ready to rent yet? No problem. We recommend reserving your storage unit so you can lock in your rate and promotion (if available) for up to two weeks. You can reserve online or via a manager by calling or visiting the store during operating hours.
4. Move in to your storage unit.
Once you’re ready to move in to your storage unit, make sure you have a packing plan in mind. We recommend labeling your boxes so that, in the event you need to return for just one or two packed items, you can easily locate the box and not have to open up all of them.
Also, make sure to utilize vertical space and pack your items upward. This will also give you more walking space so you can through to items in the back easily. This is especially beneficial for customers in larger units.
