How To Pack a Suitcase Efficiently
Posted on: January 29, 2020 | by: admin

Hope your new year is going well! Many of you may have planned fun trips to create joyful memories this year, so we put together some tips to help you pack your suitcase wisely.
A major challenge people often face when packing is determining the proper amount. They either overpack, – such as by bringing too many additional outfits, extra snacks or makeup – or underpack – either forgetting items or not planning for the unexpected.
However, some of you may have,.the ideal amount, but just face trouble trying to fit it all into a small space. We have gathered a few tips to help you avoid this situation so you can get going and stop stressing over packing. The following tips will help create more room in your bag and protect fragile items.
Tip #1- Utilize or Roll Your Clothes.
Clothes will likely take up the most space in your suitcase. It would be wise to use them as compartments and roll any leftovers. That way, you can still have enough outfits for your trip while being able to fit it all in.
Packing Cubes with Clothes
A lot of people use packing cubes to create compartments that will allow your suitcase to be more organized. However, these cubes normally cost around $15-$40 per set, and will also make your suitcase slightly heavier which we are aiming to avoid. Structured packing cubes may not be for everyone, such as this traveller. Instead, we recommend using the clothes that you are packing as the compartments.
Roll the Excess Clothes
If you happen to have some clothes remaining after using them as packing cubes, you can just roll them and put them around the sides of your suitcase. This will allow some cushion for more fragile items. Now you are using your clothes to create compartments and also helping keep the danger items in place, which leads us to our third tip.
Tip #2- Place Fragile Items in the Middle.
To avoid the nightmare of opening your suitcase to a broken foundation bottle or a shattered crystal you’re gifting, make sure to store all of your fragile items in the middle of the suitcase, with each one wrapped in a clothing item. These items should be surrounded by the excess rolled clothes to help them be secure. It would be a good idea to confirm that the items do not have any space to move if your suitcase is accidentally tossed around. Check out this link to see additional tips on packing glass bottles.
Tip #3- Keep Entertainment Digital.
The good part about today’s society is that you can access many forms of entertainment on one screen. Leave out those heavy 800 page books and keep it digital. You can also use your tablet or other mobile device to watch YouTube or play games if you get tired of reading. Make use of multi-functional items on your trips this year!
We hope these tips helped you pack smarter for the new year, so you can have a lighter suitcase for easier travel. Please be aware that you should also keep valuables at your home safe if you are going away for at least a week or two. It might be best to look into a self-storage to keep your precious items safe. You will need the right packing materials in order to do this, so be sure to check out our moving supplies page.
Have a safe trip!
