With a new season comes a new lifestyle, and we are here to help you transition your kitchen into spring! You may think that there isn’t much you can do to improve your kitchen, but there are actually so many ways to make it more appropriate for the new season. Following in the footsteps of the KonMari method, the goal is to keep the items that bring you joy and are suitable for the season.
Are you cleaning your appliances the right way? Do you have too much or too little empty space in your kitchen? We will go over all the steps you can take to make the most out of your precious space. Let’s spring up your kitchen!
1. Spice up your grocery tote
If you are using a boring grocery tote that doesn’t give you the slightest bit of excitement to go grocery shopping, you should definitely look into buying another one. You can even DIY one if you are feeling creative! All you need to do is buy your choice of fabric and sew it into a neat little tote bag.
2. Get rid of unnecessary clutter in the kitchen
If you are like most people, you have turned one or two kitchen cabinets into a random storage spot and crammed your kitchen-related items in the other cabinets. Either that or you have way too many pots, pans, and other cooking tools and your cabinets are way too cluttered. If either of these sound like you, try looking into an affordable storage unit to keep your home tidy.
3. Reorganize your pantry and fridge
This is a great time to check all expiration dates and throw out anything that has become old. It will also be a good idea to consume all winter-related food and drink items such as oatmeal and hot chocolate before it gets hotter so you do not waste them.
4. Prepare a cleaning bucket for easy cleaning
Cleaning can be a quick and easy task if you have all your items on hand. Therefore, it is good to have a bucket full of a few rags, sponges, cleaning spray, and a mini broom so you don’t have to gather these items every time you need to clean. Make sure sponges and rags are also cleaned regularly!
5. Spotless microwave
The microwave is one of the hardest appliances to clean, especially from the inside. Get rid of all the built-up grease and stains by heating up water in the microwave for about 4-5 minutes and then wipe the inside surfaces with a rag. The stains should come off with ease.
6. Consider getting a kitchen plant
House plants have many beneficial effects on a person. They help purify the air and decrease stress. Studies show that having a plant in your house can also boost your productivity level! Here are 8 of the best house plants for the kitchen. This will be the perfect way to give your kitchen the fresh feeling of springtime.
Now that you have a pristine and joyful kitchen, you can take some time to cook up a delicious meal for you and your loved ones! Make sure to eat lots of greens and keep your diet healthy. We hope you have a wonderful spring season. Happy organizing!
